9-year-old girl who survived rollover crash that killed her father describes weekend ordeal

A 9-year-old girl who survived a rollover crash is out of a Southern California hospital and seen on video describing how she hiked more than a mile to find help for her father, who was later found dead.

KABC-TV showed footage Tuesday of Celia Renteria speaking from a hospital bed about how she hiked to a house only to find nobody at home.

Celia says she kept climbing and eventually waved down a passerby on an isolated stretch of highway in northern Los Angeles County.

Officers discovered the body of 35-year-old Alejandro Renteria pinned in the driver's seat of his 2010 Ford Escape at the bottom of a rugged canyon.

Celia suffered bruises and a cut on her face.

A hospital spokeswoman says the girl was released late Monday.
