35-year-old son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy arrested on federal land outside Vegas

Authorities say the son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy has been arrested on federal land on parole violations and a drug court arrest warrant.

Records showed 35-year-old Cliven Lance Bundy was held Wednesday at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance.

The federal Bureau of Land Management released a statement saying a ranger checking off-road vehicles for permits at Jean Dry Lake arrested Bundy on Sunday driving a commercial tour group vehicle.

A public defender who previously represented Bundy didn't immediately respond to messages.

The elder Bundy became a symbol for resisting authority after armed supporters faced off with federal agents in April to end a BLM roundup of his cattle.

He said Wednesday he's been trying to help his son but hasn't heard from him since the holidays.
