A former Pittsburgh-area contractor has been sentenced to more than five years in prison for defrauding the government for work rebuilding the Pentagon after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Fifty-four-year-old Thomas Cousar, who now lives in Alexandria, Va., was sentenced Friday to 63 months in prison.
Cousar and two employees pleaded guilty last year to overcharging the government $850,000 for work done to repair the Pentagon as well as charges related to work done on Pittsburgh's PNC Park.

The work was done by Cousar's former company, Capco Contracting in McKeesport, a Pittsburgh suburb.
Prosecutors say the trio used bills with padded labor hours and materials, some of which were actually used on a personal business Cousar and one of the employees owned.
