Twin sisters have been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading no contest to elder abuse resulting in the death of their invalid diabetic mother in California.
A Superior Court commissioner immediately sentenced Justine and Jasmine Rosales after the women entered their pleas Tuesday.
Prosecutors say the twins caused the death of their mother, 43-year-old Naomi Mendez, who weighed just 78 pounds at the time of her death.

Police say Naomi Mendez suffered from diabeties and other medical problems that limited her speech and required her to use a walker. The sisters were responsible for Mendez's care when she died.
The sisters were charged last April after a lengthy investigation.
