JENNINGS, Mo. – A 1-year-old St. Louis County girl was found safe Monday, a day after she was allegedly abducted from her home by her 15-year-old baby sitter, authorities said.
Chayil Mitchell-McRay was found with the baby sitter at a bus stop in East St. Louis, Ill. The child has been reunited with her mother.
Police said the sitter took the child, along with her stroller and baby equipment, from her Jennings home Sunday night. The teen was also babysitting the toddler's 5-year-old brother, but left him behind, authorities said.
FBI (search) Special Agent Jeffrey Brown told KMOV-TV that tips helped track down the child. East St. Louis police pulled over a Metro bus around noon and found the teenager and baby inside.
The teenager was taken into custody without incident.
