Student Shot on Northern Illinois University Campus

The early morning shooting on the campus of Northern Illinois University started as a dispute between two students and is an isolated incident.
That's according to NIU President John Peters, who says one student suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was shot in the leg outside a residence hall. Peters say the shooter was caught by NIU police a short time later.
Friday's incident came less than a week after NIU marked the two-year anniversary of a campus shooting rampage that left five students dead before the gunman killed himself.

Peters says classes are going on as normal Friday. But he says counseling services are available to students, faculty and staff who need it.
