Police are investigating the death of 19-year-old Iona College student found in his dorm room Wednesday morning, the Journal News reports.
Adam Lynch was found dead in his Loftus Hall dorm room in New Rochelle, N.Y., by his two roommates around 9:40 a.m. Wednesday.
"It is with profound sadness that I announce that Adam Lynch, a student at Iona College, passed away this morning," Iona College President Brother James A. Liguori said in a written statement printed by the Journal News. "The loss of a young life is always tragic, and Adam's untimely passing will be deeply felt by faculty and students. On behalf of the Iona community, we ask that everyone remember in their prayers Adam and his family."
Lynch's death is at least the fourth at the school since December 1999, when an 18-year-old Brooklyn student with a heart defect died during a hazing incident, the paper reports. In 2000, a Long Island sophomore died in his dorm room of a seizure and in 2002 another student died in a car crash.
