Rhode Island State Police say a motorist hit someone with his car and then drove more than a mile with him stuck in his windshield.
Christopher Swiridowsky has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. He is jailed on a bail violation.
Police say Swiridowsky drove into a group of three men who were standing on the side of Interstate 95. Police say one of the three men suffered serious injuries and another became trapped in Swiridowsky's windshield.

Authorities say Swiridowsky drove away and stopped only because someone was following him. The windshield victim has two broken legs and a broken arm.
Swiridowsky's phone has been disconnected. No defense attorney is listed for him, and a public defender who previously represented him hasn't returned a message.
