Police say they think three pipe bombs found in a northern New Jersey town were made for "kicks."
Wayne Police Sgt. Matthew Dox says two men had constructed similar devices in the past and detonated them in a quarry. Dox says authorities believe the men had planned to do the same with the bombs found on Sunday afternoon.
The bombs were discovered in a black plastic bag in a wooded area of Wayne, about 15 miles northwest of Newark.

The find spurred numerous evacuations and road closures but caused no injuries.
Twenty-year-old Joseph Boniface has been charged with possession of a destructive device, and police say they plan to file charges against a second man.
