Police: Man Dumped Dying Woman Outside Florida Hospital

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla – A Pompano Beach man was charged with the death of a woman found dumped outside a South Florida hospital.

Thirty-three-year-old Eric Galbrecht was arrested Saturday, six days after 23-year-old Ashley Gerschoffer of Lighthouse Point was found lying outside North Broward Medical Center.

Hospital staff discovered her, but she later died. The medical examiner said she died of head injuries sustained when she was thrown out of a car.

Police described Galbrecht as a boyfriend of Gerschoffer and said they'd known each other for about five years. They say he admitted throwing the victim from a car after a night of drinking and drugs.

Galbrecht is being held on a manslaughter charge and it wasn't known if he had an attorney.
