Nursing Home Residents Compete for Pageant Title
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}It's been said that beauty is ageless, and an annual nursing home pageant competition in Missouri seeks to prove the adage true.
Competitors will participate this week in district-level events in Springfield, Jefferson City, Cape Girardeau and Kansas City. Three other district-level events already are completed.
Each participant has previously competed at her own nursing facility pageant. About 70 to 100 nursing homes participated.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The winners of the district events will go on to compete at the 29th annual Ms. Missouri Nursing Home Pageant in Kansas City in August.
Contestants are judged on their personality for their age, life activities, participation in nursing home activities and attitude toward life.
The Missouri Health Care Association puts on the pageant.
