About forty passengers, mostly third graders, were on a Laidlaw school bus that was taking the students to a pumpkin patch in Millstadt, Illinois.

After a passerby notified police that the driver was swerving in and out of traffic, a police officer pulled her over. The 37-year-old woman reportedly allowed the bus drift across the center line and into oncoming traffic.

A spokesperson for the bus company said police told him the driver passed a breathalyzer test, but failed a motor skills test. He also said the driver recently passed a random drug test and never had any problems on or off the road.

Until the police and transit company's investigations are complete the driver will not be back behind the wheel.
