A 22-year-old St. Peters man has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action after he allegedly entered into a suicide pact with a friend, who died.
Family members say 21-year-old Alex Harkins of Florissant died on the night of May 29, after shooting himself at a conservation area in Hazelwood.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Harkins' friend, Jacob Runge, later told police the two had made a suicide pact. But Runge did not go through with the plan and left Harkins in the wooded area.

Harkins' body was found on June 2, after Harkins' father confronted Runge about his missing son. Runge was held Monday on $25,000 bail.
