'Girls Gone Wild' Founder Joe Francis to Be Arraigned on Sexual Battery Charge
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis is due in court to face accusations that he fondled an 18-year-old woman at a birthday party in Hollywood while she told him to leave her alone.
Francis faces a misdemeanor sexual battery charge when he is arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles. He could be sentenced to six months in jail and a $2,000 fine if he's convicted.
The charge is the latest in a series of legal troubles for Francis.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}He was sentenced to 35 days in jail last month in Florida for contempt of court in a civil case and was indicted last month in Nevada for tax evasion.
A U.S. District judge in Los Angeles fined him $200,000 in January for violating record-keeping requirements designed to prevent exploitation of minors.
He was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
