The former stepfather of a 12-year-old Vermont girl found dead earlier this month was indicted Wednesday on child pornography charges.
A grand jury indicted Raymond Gagnon on charges of transporting child pornography in April 2007 and possessing a computer containing child pornography on July 1, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a release.
The San Antonio man is the former stepfather of Brooke Bennett, who went missing June 25 and was found a week later buried in Randolph, Vt.

Gagnon, 40, faces obstruction of justice charges in the girl's disappearance. At a July 7 hearing he did not contest his continued detention on the charges. A lawyer listed for him in court documents did not immediately return an after-hours call Wednesday.
Michael Jacques, Brooke's uncle, has been charged with her kidnapping. No one has been charged in her death.

Gagnon is accused in court records of having someone throw out his laptop computer while authorities were searching for Brooke. Gagnon married Brooke's mother in 2000, but they later divorced.
