Cops Probe Brutal Murder of Four in Alabama

Police have charged a 24-year-old man with four counts of capital murder in the stabbing deaths of four people in a home in Hueytown.

Police chief Chuck Hagler said Scott Lamar Abbott is being held with no bond allowed. Hagler said Abbott slashed and stabbed two men and two women while they slept early Saturday in their home in the suburban Birmingham community.

The chief identified the victims as 24-year-old Nika Fandlin, 27-year-old Jeri Cole, 31-year-old William Gilbert and 26-year-old Joshua Gilleo.

Police say Abbott acted alone, moving from room to room to kill the victims. Hagler said police believe Abbott was the spurned boyfriend of one of the women who was killed.
