Cops: 62-Year-Old Man Raped Woman He Met at Yard Sale in Padlocked Bedroom
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities say a 62-year-old man lured a woman into a padlocked bedroom, ordered her to take off her shirt and raped her.
The woman told police she met Gerard Louis Cardarelli at a yard sale on Saturday.
He asked her if she knew anyone looking for work cleaning houses, and the woman said she was interested.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The next day at Cardarelli's home, the woman reported following him into the bedroom, where he raped her, told her not to tell anyone and gave her $45.
When police later searched the room, they found daggers and machetes hanging from the walls and an unloaded .357 magnum pistol in a case near the bed.
Cardarelli was arrested Sunday and charged with sexual assault. He was being held on $10,000 bail.
