Boy, 4, Accidentally Shoots Self in Head, Dies
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A 4-year-old boy apparently found a handgun hidden in his house and accidentally shot and killed himself.
The boy, whose name was withheld, appeared alert when first taken to University Hospital on Monday but died during surgery shortly before 11 p.m., Kenner police said.
Other people were in the house when the boy was wounded about 6 p.m., said Detective Brian McGregor, a police spokesman.
