HATFIELD, Wis. – Jackson County authorities told scores of volunteer searchers to discontinue their efforts while law enforcement investigates last weekend's disappearance of a 27-year-old woman.
Police tape went up around the Hatfield home where Alisha Sidie lived with her ex-husband and 2-year-old twin boys before she disappeared last weekend.
Sheriff Duane Waldera said state crime lab workers went through the house Thursday searching for evidence that could help find Sidie.
Sidie's ex-husband, Doug, told authorities she left on foot after the two argued Friday night. He reported her missing the next day.
Since then, the sheriff said volunteers covered about 1,200 acres without finding anything, and the search now is focused on more specialized areas, using K-9 units and divers.
