4 People Confirmed Dead After Heavy Storms Trigger Flooding and Damage in Parts of Texas

Heavy rains and high winds are hitting parts of Texas, causing flooding that has led to four deaths.

Authorities say weather was a factor last night when a sport utility vehicle plowed into a dump truck in Austin, killing three women.

Austin police say another woman died Sunday when a gust of wind caused the motorcycle she was a passenger on to hit a guardrail.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for parts of northern Texas. A severe storm there blew a home from its foundation, ripped the roof off at least one house and damaged two others.

And in western Texas authorities rescued a man stranded atop his minivan as raging floodwaters threatened to consume him.

Search and rescue teams throughout Texas are at a high state of readiness.
