Fifteen people were injured when a charter bus carrying students in a job training program collided with a tractor-trailer in northeast Kansas, overturned and briefly caught fire.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the bus was making a legal U-turn about 2:20 p.m. Monday on a state highway west of Manhattan when a truck carrying construction materials struck it from behind. The bus skidded into the median, overturned and caught fire.
A spokeswoman at a Manhattan hospital says nine of the 15 people taken there were treated and released. Three others were expected to be released shortly and the last three were in stable condition.
