Youngstown State adds four defensive players

Youngstown State football coach Eric Wolford announced the signing of four defensive players on Wednesday for the upcoming spring semester.
The group included two junior safeties, Chris Charles, a 6-foot, 195-pounder from Pompano Beach, Fla., and Ellsworth College, and Twin Fernandes, a 6-foot, 185-pounder from Buena Park, Calif., and Compton College.
Also signing national letters of intent were 5-11, 175-pound sophomore cornerback Julis Childs, from Los Angeles and Compton College, and 6-4, 200- pound freshman linebacker Terry Johnson from Pinellas Park, Fla., and Countryside High School.

Johnson originally signed with YSU last February 2011, but did not attend college in the fall semester.
The Penguins went 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference this season.
