Williams scores 26 points, grabs 13 rebounds as Murray State gets by Austin Peay 96-88

Jarvis Williams scored 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as Murray State pulled away late from Austin Peay for a 96-88 win Friday.

Cameron Payne added 12 points and a career-high 12 assists for Murray State (13-8, 8-1 Ohio Valley). Payne assisted T.J. Sapp on a 3-pointer with 1:12 left to give the Racers a 90-86 lead, before Jeffery Moss drove into the lane and scored with 26 seconds left to help Murray State pull away.

Payne was 4 of 4 from the line in the final 18 seconds to secure the win, as Austin Peay (9-13, 3-5) struggled to score late after the Governors had cut an 87-82 deficit to 87-86 with 2:25 left.

Dexter Fields had 19 and Sapp added 15 while Moss scored 14.

Ed Dyson and Chris Horton scored 19 apiece for Austin Peay, while Demarius Smith and Travis Betran each had 14.
