Vikings bolster offensive line with free-agent tackle Reiff

The Minnesota Vikings are replacing one former first-round pick with another as they look to retool their struggling offensive line.
Former Detroit Lions lineman Riley Reiff, an unrestricted free agent, signed with the Vikings on Friday, perhaps filling the left tackle spot vacated by Matt Kalil.
Kalil signed with the Carolina Panthers on a five-year deal reportedly worth $55 million.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The 23rd overall pick in 2012, Reiff was the second offensive tackle taken that year following No. 4 overall pick Kalil.
Reiff began his career with the Lions as a left tackle, starting eight games as a rookie before becoming a regular for the Lions in his second season, moving to right tackle for the 2016 season after the Lions selected Taylor Decker with the 16th overall pick last summer.
Where Reiff suits up for the Vikings could depend on who else Minnesota signs (or doesn't sign) in free agency. Reiff allowed 14.5 sacks in 63 games at left tackle and four sacks in 2016 in first season as a right tackle.
