Vancouver fans are jubilant after Canucks lead 3-2 over Boston in cup series

VANCOUVER - Jubilant Vancouver fans are screaming themselves hoarse in celebration of the Canucks 1-0 win over the Boston Bruins in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup final.

The city's core is jammed with thousands of people — some even brought bagpipes to celebrate the victory that puts the Canucks one win away from capturing their first Stanley Cup.

There was a lot of nervousness before the game, given the Canucks were blown away in the two previous games in Boston.

Allan Wynnyk from Langley, B.C., was among the huge crowd and said the Canucks did what they had to, and their goalie, Roberto Luongo, was back in top form and played a stellar game.

Brian Gusko watched from home for the first two periods, but after Vancouver scored he headed downtown to celebrate with the rest of the city.

Despite Luongo's latest shutout performance, Gusko admits to still being somewhat anxious about the Canuck goalie, and says the team will need to keep him on track for Monday's Game 6 back in Boston.
