Southern California is coming off a historically disappointing season that has put Lane Kiffin in a tough situation heading into his fourth season as Trojans coach.

The Trojans will have a new quarterback and are still dealing with a roster limited by NCAA sanctions. They won't enter the season No. 1 like last year. Expectations are far more modest, which both Kiffin and his boss, athletic director Pat Haden, say is a good thing.

The question is whether another poor season lead to a coaching change at USC.

Kiffin says he always feels as if he is coaching for his job.

Haden says he is not about to make any pronouncements about the upcoming season. He says: "Let's just enjoy the season."
