Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Cameroon forward Clinton Njie from Lyon for a reported £10million on a five-year contract.

Njie's arrival, confirmed on his 22nd birthday but subject to a work permit, comes less than 24 hours after Roberto Soldado's return to Spain was rubber-stamped and gives Spurs another attacking option with Emmanuel Adebayor's future still unclear.

The new man, who has six goals in 11 games for his country and helped Lyon to a second-placed finish in France last season, can operate in any of the three positions across the front line.
