Toronto obtain Versteeg from Stanley Cup winners Chicago

TORONTO (Reuters) - The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired right wing Kris Versteeg from the Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Viktor Stalberg in a multi-player deal, the team said on Wednesday.

Toronto, who obtained the rights to left wing Bill Sweatt as part of the trade, also sent prospects Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis to the Blackhawks.

Versteeg, a fifth-round draft pick of the Boston Bruins in 2004, had 20 goals and 24 assists in 79 games last season for the Blackhawks. The 24-year-old also had 14 points in the playoffs.

Stalberg, 24, had nine goals and 14 assists in 40 games for Toronto last season.
