Tony Kanaan conflicted about using green-white-checkered rule in IndyCar Series

Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan has mixed views about green-white-checkered flag finishes.

Kanaan won his first Indy 500 under caution Sunday when Dario Franchitti crashed with three laps remaining. Although NASCAR makes three attempts to finish a race under green even if means going beyond the scheduled distance, the IndyCar Series does not.

Kanaan says IndyCar should consider green-white-checkered finishes, but is conflicted about using them at Indianapolis Motor Speedway because of tradition.

Kanaan says fans want to see a finish under green flag, especially at Indianapolis. But he understands purists are against the idea.
