College Station, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Texas A&M and UCLA will hold a home- and-home series for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the schools along with the Southeastern and Pac-12 Conferences announced Thursday.
The Bruins will make their first ever trip to College Station on Sep. 3, 2016, and the Aggies will travel to Pasadena on Sep. 2, 2017.
Texas A&M hasn't visited California for a regular-season game since knocking off Stanford in its season opener back in 1992.
"We are very pleased this series was able to come together and provides our program with an exciting, premier non-conference matchup against UCLA, said Texas A&M director of athletics Eric Hyman in a statement. "UCLA brings one of the top programs on the West Coast to the redeveloped Kyle Field in Aggieland, and for our Aggie team and the 12th man to have the chance to play in the Rose Bowl is a historic opportunity."
The programs have split the four previous matchups, the last of which came in the 1998 Cotton Bowl in Dallas. UCLA won, 29-23, despite a Cotton Bowl-record 20 tackles from A&M linebacker Dat Nguyen.
