The Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers have to set their rosters at 53 players by the end of the weekend.

Backup quarterbacks Landry Jones and Joe Webb are hoping to stick around.

Jones and Webb will get an extended look on Thursday night when the two teams wrap up the preseason. Jones has struggled during the exhibition season and coach Mike Tomlin says he needs to see consistent play out of Jones before deciding on whether the team will carry a third quarterback after Ben Roethlisberger and Bruce Gradkowski.

Webb's spot is more secure. He could play the entire game on Thursday. Cam Newton will sit and backup Derek Anderson is with his wife, who is expecting a child.
