The New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles hope for better weather in their final day of workouts before Friday night's preseason game.

Their joint practice was cut short by rain that fell throughout Wednesday's session. But players from both teams say it's good to get used to that since they may have to play in rain during the regular season.

Tom Brady is expected to play Friday after sitting out the Patriots' 23-6 loss at the Washington Redskins last Thursday night. Coach Bill Belichick rarely announces who will play in preseason games.

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is coming off a poor performance in his preseason opener after leading the NFL in passer rating last season, but has practiced well against the Patriots.
