Stars' Peverley to miss three weeks

Dallas Stars forward Rich Peverley will be sidelined for the next three weeks after undergoing a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat.
The problem was discovered on Wednesday during a physical. After more tests on Thursday, the doctors decided to perform the procedure to correct the issue.
"We sent him to a specialist and it ended up he had an A-fib condition (atrial fibrillation), which is where the heart gets out of rhythm," said Stars GM Jim Nill. "He had a procedure done. He's going to be out for three weeks and should be available close to the start of the season, might miss one or two games."

It was to Nill's knowledge that the procedure involved shocking the heart to get it back in rhythm.
Peverley was acquired from Boston on July 4th in a seven-player trade. Last season, He had six goals and 12 assists in 47 regular-season tilts along with two goals in 21 playoff contests.
