The Buffalo Bills released defensive end IK Enemkpali on Friday, a source told Fox Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo.

Enemkpali was signed by the team on Aug. 12, just a day after he was released by the New York Jets for punching quarterback Geno Smith in the face. Enemkpali played in every preseason game with the Bills, but didn't do enough to earn a roster spot.

Enemkpali was a sixth-round pick of the Jets in 2014.
