San Jose general manager Doug Wilson is recommending that coach Todd McLellan return for a seventh season even after the Sharks became the fourth NHL team to lose a best-of-seven series after winning the first three games.
Wilson spoke Friday, less than 48 hours after San Jose capped another postseason collapse by losing Game 7 at home to the Los Angeles Kings 5-1. He said change was necessary but he still believed in McLellan.
The Sharks won the first three games of the series by a margin of 17-8 but managed only two goals in the final three games in their latest playoff disappointment.
