Savannah State opens at Oklahoma State and Florida State

Savannah State's FCS program isn't easing Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Tigers, who finished 1-10 last season under first-year coach Steve Davenport, will open the 2012 season with trips to FBS powers Oklahoma State and Florida State on Sept. 1 and 8, respectively.
Savannah State will be facing both programs for the first time.

As part of an 11-game schedule announced Thursday, Savannah State will play four home games at Theodore A. Wright Stadium. They are against MEAC opponents North Carolina Central (Sept. 22), Morgan State (Oct. 6) and Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 10), and NAIA member Edward Waters (Oct. 20) in a non-conference matchup on the Tigers' Homecoming Day.
Savannah State also will play road conference games at Howard (Sept. 29), Florida A&M (Oct. 13), Hampton (Oct. 27), defending champion Norfolk State (Nov. 3) and South Carolina State (Nov. 17).
