Rouse scores 16 as Stony Brook beats Vermont 65-48 for 16th conference home win in row

Marcus Rouse came off the bench to score 16 points, and Jameel Warney had 12 points and 10 rebounds as Stony Brook defeated Vermont 65-48 Friday night in a matchup of the America East Conference leaders.

Tommy Brenton added 13 points, six assists and six rebounds for the Seawolves (19-6, 10-2), who won their 16th consecutive regular-season home conference game.

Stony Brook, which led 35-29 at halftime, started the second half with a 20-5 run. Warney scored eight of the Seawolves' first 13 points in that stretch.

Rouse scored 11 of his points in the first half and finished the game 6 of 8 from the field, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range.

Sandro Carissimo scored 14 points and Luke Apfeld 12 for Vermont (16-9, 9-4). Clancy Rugg, who scored 19 when the Catamounts beat Stony Brook 81-73 at home on Jan. 18, was scoreless this time.
