West Brom have reportedly agreed a fee for Manchester United centre-back Jonny Evans, who is now set for a medical at The Hawthorns.

According to Sky sources, if that move goes through, West Brom defender Joleon Lescott is set to join Aston Villa for an initial fee of £1m, plus potentially another £1m in add-ons.

Villa have been looking for another option at the heart of their defence but the Baggies will not let Lescott go until they have acquired a replacement.

And the man they have in mind is Evans, who has fallen down the pecking order somewhat at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a trophy-laden nine-year spell with United, winning the Premier League title on three occasions.

West Brom turned their attention to Evans after Tottenham centre-back Federico Fazio failed to agree a contract during a day of talks last week.
