Reds activate Phillips, Ondrusek

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) -The Cincinnati Reds activated second baseman Brandon Phillips and pitcher Logan Ondrusek from the 15-day disabled list prior to Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Phillips was disabled while recovering from July 11 surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb
He was hitting .272 with 19 doubles, seven homers and 40 RBI in 86 games before the injury.

Ondrusek has been on the DL since July 22 with a strained right shoulder. The right-hander is 3-2 with a 4.31 ERA in 29 relief appearances this season.
The Reds also optioned pitchers Dylan Axelrod and catcher Tucker Barnhart to Triple-A Louisville. Pitcher Curtis Partch, who served as the 26th player for Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Rockies, was returned to Louisville.
