SHANGHAI – Julien Quesne shot a 5-under 67 Friday to take a one-stroke lead over defending champion Alexander Levy and Peter Uihlein after the second round at the Volvo China Open.
The Frenchman had six birdies and one bogey for an 8-under 136 overall score.
Levy was a shot ahead of Quesne after three straight birdies on the back nine, but he hit into the water on No. 16 and took a double-bogey. He then bogied the next hole.
Uihlein had an eagle on the par-5 18th to move into second. The American is coming off a fourth-place finish last week at the Shenzhen International.
Levy and Uihlein were two strokes ahead of a group of five golfers in a tie for fourth.
