Pirates' top pick in 2014 will miss most of 2016 with torn labrum
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Pittsburgh's top draft pick in 2014 faces missing almost all of the 2016 season after undergoing surgery Wednesday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Shortstop Cole Tucker, the Pirates' No. 10 prospect according to MLBPipeline.com, is expected to miss 10 to 12 months. The switch-hitter was taken as the No. 24 overall pick by Pittsburgh in last year's draft.
In his first minor-league season, the 19-year-old .was batting 293/.322/.377 with two home runs and 25 RBI for Class-A West Virginia.
