The New England Patriots have canceled the final practice of their three-day minicamp.
Before they skipped Thursday's session, quarterback Tom Brady had two days to throw to a large group of new wide receivers. The team's top two receivers last season both left the team. Wes Welker signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos and Brandon Lloyd was released.
Danny Amendola is expected to get one of the starting spots and Michael Jenkins could get the other.

Brady says it takes a lot of time for a quarterback to develop chemistry with receivers. And he says the new group is open to understanding how the Patriots do things. He also says the team operates quite a bit differently from other teams, both on and off the field.
