Patriots' Brady among AFC players of the week

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis and Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Richard Seymour have been named AFC players of the week for Week 16 of the NFL season.

Brady took home the offensive award after completing 27-of-46 passes for 304 yards with one touchdown in New England's 27-24 win over Miami. He also ran for a pair of one-yard scores, helping the Patriots erase a 17-0 halftime deficit.

Mathis registered three tackles, two sacks and recovered a fumble in the Colts' 19-16 win over Houston to earn the defensive honor.

The special teams award went to Seymour, who kept Oakland's playoff hopes alive by blocking two field goals in a 16-13 overtime win at Kansas City. His second block came on the final play of regulation as he spoiled a potential game-winning 49-yard attempt by the Chiefs' Ryan Succop.
