Never mind that the Cubs were shut out by the Pirates on Saturday and that they officially had clinched their first postseason berth since 2008 more than 15 hours earlier. They were ready to celebrate.

And did they ever.

Manager Joe Maddon promised earlier this week that the team would party, and the Cubs did just that after their 4-0 loss on Saturday afternoon -- their second consecutive defeat to the Pirates.

FOX Sports' Jon Paul Morosi even got caught up in the madness.

The Cubs likely will enter the postseason as the second NL wild card, meaning they would have to play the one-and-done matchup on the road. They trail the Pirates, who currently own the first wild card, by 5 ½ games.
