Cam Newton says his focus this year is on being smarter with the football and isn't worried about whether he's the fastest quarterback in the NFL,

Newton smiled when asked about Michael Vick's assertion that he's still the league's fastest QB.

The Carolina QB doesn't believe he belongs in the same category with burners like with Vick, Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III, even after setting an NFL quarterback record with 14 rushing touchdowns as a rookie in 2012.

Newton says he doesn't "want to be the fastest quarterback; I want to be the guy that can't be caught."

More importantly, he wants to make the right decisions this year, and not try to force things and be "overly aggressive" as he's admittedly been at times in the past.
