The Green Bay Packers signed free-agent safety Jermaine Whitehead on Wednesday.

Whitehead began the 2015 season on San Francisco's practice squad and was signed to Baltimore's active roster on Dec. 23. He was inactive for the final two games of the regular season, was re-signed in mid-April and then waived by the Ravens on May 13.

While at Auburn, he was suspended four games his senior year for arguing with an assistant coach and upon his return was limited to special teams for two games. Whitehead still had six interceptions -- tying for the team lead -- despite playing just seven games. He had 65 tackles as a junior for the Tigers and 86 as a sophomore.

Whitehead was not selected in the 2015 NFL Draft.
