LONDON --

Fulham owner Shad Khan is searching for his fifth manager since buying the London club two years ago after firing Kit Symons.

The Welshman left Fulham on Sunday with the team 12th in the second tier following a 5-2 loss to Birmingham.

Khan says it's ''time to take Fulham to the higher level of success that we expect from our first team manager and our players.''

When Khan, who also owns the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, bought Fulham in July 2013 Martin Jol was manager. Jol was replaced in December 2013 by Rene Meulensteen, who survived only 75 days in the job.

Felix Magath was the next appointment, but the former Bayern Munich coach only lasted until September 2014 following Fulham's relegation from the Premier League before being replaced by Symons.
