Sarasota, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles assigned catcher J.P. Arencibia to minor league camp on Monday.
Arencibia, signed as a free agent in January, appeared in nine spring training games and had two singles in 17 at-bats.
The former Toronto Blue Jays starting catcher received a cortisone shot in his throwing arm on Monday morning, according to the Baltimore Sun.
