Oilers recall Gerber from AHL

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled veteran goaltender Martin Gerber from AHL Oklahoma City, due to an injury to goalie Nikolai Khabibulin.
Khabibulin was placed on injured reserve Monday with a groin injury. Khabibulin has lost four-straight games, including allowing four goals on 31 shots in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. In 15 games this season, he's 4-10-1 with a 4.07 goals-against average and .879 save percentage.
Gerber is 9-4-0 in 13 AHL games, with a 2.56 GAA and .911 save percentage. His nine wins are second in the league.

Gerber, 36, has 226 games of NHL experience over seven seasons with the Ducks, Hurricanes, Senators and Maple Leafs. He started the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs as the No. 1 goalie for the Hurricanes before giving way to Cam Ward en route to the franchise's first Stanley Cup. He spent last season playing in Russia.
