No. 10 Texas to play without top scorer Taylor because of wrist injury

Texas leading scorer Isaiah Taylor will miss the championship game of the 2K Classic against California on Friday night because of a left wrist injury.

Taylor was injured late in the No. 10 Longhorns' 71-57 victory over Iowa on Thursday when fell after he was flagrantly fouled by the Hawkeyes' Gabriel Olaseni with 2:06 remaining. The starting point guard had his wrist wrapped in ice after the game.

The Longhorns say Taylor will be re-evaluated when they return to Austin.

Taylor scored 15 points Thursday, right at his team-leading average. The sophomore has started all 38 games at point guard in his career.
